Joseph M. Morgan papers, 1943-1970.

The Joseph M. Morgan Papers contain biographical information on Morgan; copies of orders from his time in the U.S. Army (1943-1946); and correspondence, reports, and working papers relating to U.S. Bureau of Reclamation projects in Alaska, especially the Eklutna Project of the early 1950s. The collection also includes research files relating to hydroelectric projects outside of Alaska and Morgan's report evaluating potential dam sites in Guatamala (1956).

Joseph Mulford Morgan (1899-1983) received a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from Brooklyn Polytechnical Institute in 1925. Following brief stints with a private engineering firm in the southeastern United States (1929-1932) and with the State of South Carolina (1933-1934), he became a senior engineer with the Federal Power Commission (1934-1943).
